Christine
Our first student profile of the year is for Ayabo Pale Christine. She is a fantastic student and wonderful young women eager to improve her life. She is 14 years old and just finished primary school with help from Hope Sparked. She lives with her grandmother since her father died about eight years ago and her mother lives far away. Her grandmother kept her in school through fourth grade, but was unable to pay school fees after that. Hope Sparked helped her through the sixth grade and she is one of our most successful students, consistently at the top of her class. She and her grandmother moved to a different part of the city, but Christine walks back every day to stay enrolled in school. She hopes to become a lawyer.
We are looking for someone to sponsor Christine’s secondary education to help keep that Spark of Hope burning. We ask sponsors to commit to a monthly of donation of $30 for at least a year, and to send letters of introduction and encouragement. Students write to their sponsor once or twice a year and our staff provides pictures and updates when they can. Christine is the reason we built Hope Sparked. She is intelligent, hard-working, and full of hope, but lacks the support and resources needed to break the cycle of poverty. We believe there are many people in more fortunate circumstances who would barely miss $30 a month but would find great joy in providing the opportunity for education to a child who has nowhere else to turn for help. If you can provide that support, please visit out our sponsorship page and make a donation.
